In media news... Possibly an unfortunate bit of screen-capture for a video game here...
And Merlin (new BBC series) also looks intriguing.
The trailer for FFXIII is up, and looks shiny, though I hope the plot's a bit less anticlimatic than FFXII was.
I've also got a confirmed PhD annual review date - 4th August. Considering this is meant to have taken place before the end of June, it's a little unimpressive... Off to Glasgow to prepare for that.

Some photos from the bondage shoot. The "Work Safe" stuff A few of the work safe ones up front... and the rest aren't safe. I was the stylist for this so all I have for photos are my snapshots. I think I'll send some of the behind the scenes stuff off to the crew at TheFetishSaloon.com to add to their blog.
Yes, this is a photo of water. If you look carefully you can see Survalan in her cheese cake pose.

The boat house

The field

What I saw from the basket of the cherry picker.

Let me know if you want the spicier photos too. (ok, now really good night.)

London notes & photos - a very busy 5 days This was a very fast and a really intensely busy (and deeply sleep deprived) trip to London. I really love this city... and I don't get to enjoy it's summer enough... sigh... I wish I had more time here.
Keeping busy has been good for keeping my mind and heart from dwelling in grief. I wonder how I'll feel when I get back home. When I call home I have to stop myself from asking "so how's Grrr?"
I landed last Saturday. The flight was delayed 2 hours so by the time I got in it was too late to go to Kew Gardens as I had planned. They have a great canopy walk among their tallest trees for the summer. Unfortunately I didn't get to go at all this trip and the canopy walk will be down by the time I return in October.
Sunday: Up by 6am. So I had at least 7 hours of sleep on top of jet lag. Journey by train to the far east end of London and get picked up by my ride. Then we drive out through beautiful country side to Essex. I'm there styling and rigging for www.thefetishsaloon.com. The location was a farm... rolling green hills, a late, boat house, bunch of geese, small apple orchard, a tractor barn, a mechanic's garage.... Lovely place. I've been going to London regularly for over a decade now, but I really haven't seen much of anything outside of London - so this was a great change of scenery for me. (I know - some of you wonder why I've not seen much beyond London and why don't I just do it. It's not that easy. My teaching and performing gigs are at night. That means that any personal time I might have has to be within return distance to Covent Garden, SEOne, or where ever in town. Then I need to build in time for transit across this massive city and time to prepare for the class or show. Taking extra days off is difficult as that means other teaching jobs elsewhere won't happen. Life of the freelance, right? It's a good thing that I really enjoy London.)
Worked with a really nice first time model. All the crew spent the night out there and returned to the farm to shoot with the same model and another gal who joined us. I'll post photos of that in a separate post with a "not safe for work" LJ cut. worked on 4 hours of sleep.
Monday night, back into London with the execs from the web site. Midwifed a meeting with them and some of my talented friends over dinner.
I get back to the flat around 11pm (Turns out my friends back at the flat I'm staying at had an improptu weekend long play party and I missed out!)
I get a call that the product promotions rep for the big presentation at Coco De Mer wants me in for a meeting the next day at 10am. I get this at 10pm. Yike. I get an e mail that Coco De Mer needs class descriptions for the new class by morning. Also news to me. Double yikes. I have a deadline for my article for SocialKink.com Triple Yikes. I stayed up waaaay late. So late it was early. I got to sleep at 5:30am and had to wake up at 7:30am. 2 hours of sleep. Oh goodie.
The article turned out pretty good. I'm taking my "Beyond Twisted" class and making it into a series of columns. I'm pretty happy with it.
The class descriptions are pretty good to. Launching two new classes at Coco De Mer in October. I'll have the popular classes of JoyStick Secrets, How to Eat a Peach, and Sensual Whip - but we're adding "Rosy Cheeks: Beginner's Guide to Love Swats, Spankings, Paddle and more" plus "Bedroom Burlesque and Seduction for Beginners: Wiggle, Jiggle, Take It Off with Confidence!" Women Only."
(more soon. I'm very tired now so I'm going to bed. Woo hoo! I'm actually getting almost 6 hours of sleep tonight!)
Here's a photo from my airplane window. Perfect banking maneuver across the West End, The Eye, Tower Bridge, Tate Modern and of course the Thames. The cloud parted and framed it like a painting.

Wickerman festival tickets http://www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk/
Due to illness, two full weekend tickets for this weekend's Wickerman festival are now available. No time to post them so you need to be local and able to collect from Broughton St/Leith Walk area. It's too late to book the Happy Bus there, so best for folk with own transport. Tickets cost £75 each but I'll take £100 for the pair at this stage!
Thanks, Mo

Cobweb arm warmer thing I just finished making To Weave a Tangled Web in black, and it's come out a little bit too small. If someone more delicate than I would like it, shout out. Meanwhile, I have loads of yarn left, so I shall dig out a 4.5mm hook and make myself one that fits.

Dang
http://www.sheldoncomics.com/forums/sheldontalk/5477/ "Crazy Train," as 9,000 e-mails have proven to me in my inbox...was indeed an Ozzy song. Don't know what my brain was thinking, there. I heard Ozzy in my head signin' it, but wrote "Iron Maiden". I'll fix that when I get back from San Diego.
And, lest the mob turn on me for this vicious error, let's all remember the lyrics:
"Maybe its not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate"

Browser update I downloaded Safari for Windows this morning, and discovered that the graphics titles are fine there - the problem only occurs in the Mac version. Needless to say they are the same version number...
So I've decided that the best way to handle it is by putting a warning on the page that links to all the different files:
HTML files are best viewed in 800x600 or better resolution. While every effort has been made to test these files with a variety of browsers and graphics settings, extreme combinations of font and screen size may display poorly.
The following browsers were used for compatibility checking: Internet Explorer 7 (Windows XP)1 Firefox 3.0 (Windows XP and Apple OS X 10.4) Opera 9.51 (Windows XP and Apple OS X 10.4) Safari 3.1.2 (Windows XP and Apple OS X 10.42) 1 Not compatible with Internet Explorer for OS X 2 Safari for OS X does not display copyright information on some illustrations when the single-file version of the game is loaded. There are no problems with the multiple file version.
I think that makes things pretty clear.

Prometheus Winners Congratulations to Jo Walton papersky who has jointly won the Prometheus Award for Libertarian SF with Harry Turtledove; Jo gets it for Ha'Penny, Turtledove for The Gladiator, it's the first time that there's ever been a tie, and the first time a woman has won the actual award. Since the award is an ounce of gold it's well worth having - apparently they get an ounce each in the event of a tie.
Also pleased to say that Anthony Burgess has poshumously received the Hall of Fame award for A Clockwork Orange after several previous nominations.
http://papersky.livejournal.com/402956.html?view=6549772&style=mine#t6549772
has the news - I wanted to refer back to the actual Prometheus Award site, but my virus checker says it's trying to upload a Trojan when I go there. It's the first time I've ever seen that message, so I'd better take it seriously.
And of course this means I have to edit Jo's bio a bit in the Tooth and Claw RPG, which is a pain because there's no space left on that page...

Divorce Moves Slightly Closer
A couple of days ago, I had the draft divorce agreement through. I made a couple of addition, namely that I would raise divorce proceedings when it was the time.
The amusing thing yesterday was that my solicitor emailed me to say that STBE had wanted it adding in that if I didn't raise divorce proceedings in 18 months time, then he could.
I replied to my solicitor with something along the lines of "Believe me, I'm not planning to wait that long! I'm on a countdown till the very first day I can apply for it!"
18 months indeed! I want free of him the very first second I can do so!
On the familial side, my brother is getting married on Monday and I'm heading down to the Midlands for it.
That is going to be hard to handle. Those of us who've been/getting divorced know the hopes and aspirations you have on your wedding day, and watching those die is hard enough, but then being reminded of them by someone else's wedding is harder still.
The only good thing is that Ross is coming up to hold my hand throughout the day. That will cause a bit of interest, since I've told my family he's my best and truest friend. Well, he is, but I shall still be clinging to his hand all day long, and anyone that enters the space between us may well burst into flames from the heated looks between us. But that is the least of my worries about it.
And I'll be missing combat practice, so woe about that. I like going to combat practice because it's a type of exercise that suits me. Somehow, I can't see myself prancing about in an aerobics class or going jogging.
Another day arrives.

Oops... Well, I was busy double checking and validating etc. and I was reasonably pleased with myself, pretty sure I've finally got the bugs out apart from anything that Jo doesn't like.
Then I noticed that one of the adventures has different titles on the page and on the table of contents, in all versions of the files including the original Word document. It's only a one word difference but it's REALLY annoying that I (a) made the mistake in the first place and (b) only just spotted it.

Back Spent the last four days in Cornwall, with 14 members of my family. I am, understandably, tired.
I've caught up with two of my filters. Which means about 90% of you haven't been caught up with - and a large chunk of you probably won't be. If there's anything exciting I've missed then feel free to leave a comment.
Going to go fall over now.
Tip for the day - If you're not reading bad_sex then you're missing out on a lot. It's a locked community though, so you have to join it to see the cool stuff. Read the instructions on the user-info first...
